There’s a first time for everything!

While I often walk my labyrinth barefoot, the recent falls of snow in Cork offered a new opportunity – a barefoot snow labyrinth walk.

It was so inviting, I had to give it a try.  It was certainly cold at first and a little slippy underfoot; so it took me a few circuits to settle into the walk.  Once my mind quietened, it was really peaceful and meditative.

When I reached the centre, I stood there for a few moments, and got an amazing rush of energy and my whole body tingled with the energy flowing through it from above and below. It was beautiful and unexpected.

And I didn’t notice the cold as much as I thought I would.  I felt a few tingles, but as my focus was on the walk rather than the cold, I just settled into the walk and enjoyed the new underfoot sensation.

Afterwards, when my feet were heating up I got the usual feeling of throbbing and discomfort as the blood rushed through my feet.  But not enough to put me off.  I’ll be doing it as long as the snow lasts.

Live Life… do something different today.
