Happy Easter, and Happy Fools’ Day
When I was young my father would have us children get up before sunrise on Easter Sunday to watch the sun dance as it rose in the sky. He said that the sun was dancing with joy for the risen Jesus. With all the clouds in Ireland we didn’t get to see the sun dancing too often! Then we would have a competition to see who could eat the most boiled eggs. These customs and traditions carry huge symbolism; and this morning I felt drawn to cook and eat two boiled eggs for my breakfast.
Transcending the Physical
Jesus died on the cross to show us that we can all transcend the physical body and bring awareness to us all that we are spiritual beings on a brief physical sojourn here on earth. The death of the physical body is no longer to be seen as the end, but as the birthing, or rebirthing, into an amazing new way of being. When you realise that you are a divine immortal being, there is so much joy inside you that your inner sun dances for joy. When you connect with and start living from that place of infinite joy within you, everything is possible.
Life
The ‘Life’ Card from the labyrinth Wisdom Card Deck, features the Hopi labyrinth in which the cross in the middle is known as “Sun Father – Giver of Life”. I choose to put the labyrinth in the sun as a symbol of the eternal light that shines within you. You chose, and were chosen, to come to earth at this time. Your spiritual light is always shining within you, and Easter is a symbolic time to remember your true essence. When you become aware of and tap into your inner light, your whole life takes on a new meaning. Shining your light becomes a natural thing to do. The more you do what you love and follow your soul’s purpose, the more your light shines. Your whole life becomes filled with light and love.
Eggs and the Easter Bunny
The eggs at Easter are associated with fertility and abundance. Even the Easter Bunny is a symbol of fertility, as rabbits are known for their prolific breeding. The eggs represent the inherent creativity that lies within you waiting to be born. You can create the life you want to lead by connecting with your inner divine light.
Fools’ Day
Today is 1st April – Fools’ Day. The Fool is often ridiculed; yet, the Fool also carries deep wisdom hidden within his words and actions. When you access your inner ‘fool’, you are getting in touch with your true essence. You no longer worry about what others will think of you or say about you. You know what is right for you and you follow your inner guidance.
The Fool in the Tarot steps off the cliff in faith ready to commence his journey of self discovery. In every moment, you too can metaphorically step off the cliff into a new way of life. Just like the Fool, you are ready to take the next step on your journey – to step fully into you.
